For rust and patina effects, browns as well as certain shades of blue and green are used. In contrast to last week's video, this time I'll start with a combination of the acrylic colours umber burnt and bronze. I would like to show you how you can also create rust and patina effects with the wonderful squeegee technique. When painting abstract acrylics with the squeegee tool, I think about how I can create and apply layers of colour in an interesting way. I paint in my own style the squeegee technique made popular by Gerhard Richter. He is one of the greatest German artists for me. In contrast to his large paintings and self-made large squeegee tools, my canvas is naturally small. I hope you have fun discovering the squeegee technique!
