L & Y Class 27 0-6-0 52322 @ the GCR Winter Gala, 26/1/24 #steam #preserved #train

Sole survivor 52322 was one of the guest locos at the winter gala, seen here approaching Quorn & Woodhouse with a southbound local train. Some classes can be virtual antiques and not look their age, but my first thoughts on this loco were that it really LOOKED ancient - I suspect the core of her design may have pre-dated the stated 1895 build date under John Aspinall. Quaint but cute!
