Pain may be real, but suffering is unreal or imaginary.
For the jīvanmukta (the one who realises the Truth) the body may undergo pain as per one's karma, but the mind will not be affected. The mind will remain happy and peaceful, independent of whatever comes. "It is a part of life. Let it be."
The wise one, who lives happily doing whatever is required of them in this life, does not encounter any difficulty in either activity or inactivity.
