Air Lift Pump (Laboratory model)

This design mimics the pump used in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology (BAGHDAD) in research projects graduation for students Recently I used to complete my research and below a summary of the research: Abstract This research has studied the ability of improve the performance of air lift pump by changing the design of air injection system in mixing chamber Where experiments were carried out on the air lift pump which Consists of section pipe and mixing chamber with diameter of (0.0635m) and length of (0.3m) and lifting pipe with length of (2m) and the pump has the same dimensions of the Previous researchers but changing the design of air injection system where it is consist of air heart contains holes (36) with diameter of (3mm) directed in the path of flow Working on the distribution of the air On a regular basis and The conducted experiments on submergence ratios (0.15, 0.2 ,0.25, 0.3) Using compressed air and liquid lift (water) for different flow rates of compressed air The results showed the process to increase the rate of the liquid pumping rate of increase of air flow rate until it reaches the pump to its maximum value and then begins to decline the pumping rate of increase of flow rate of compressed air Was also found to increase the pumping rate of increase of the submergence ratio The experimental results were compared with the previous research was to obtain an improvement in performance is to increase the rate of pumping of the liquid by (16%) to equal the submergence ratio of (0.2).
