NOTIFICATION (The 2nd May 1913.)
-NO. 550 Whereas the tribes known as the Mundas, Oraons, Santals, Hos, Bhumij, Kharias, Ghasis, Gonds Kandas, Korwas, Kurmis, Male saurias and Pans, dwelling in the province of Bihar and orissa have customary rules of succession and Inheritance incompatiable with the provisions of Indian succession Act 1965 (X of 1855) and It is inexpendient to apply certain of those provisions of that Act to the members of those tribes.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 33 of the Indian Succession Act 1865 ( X of 1986 ) the Governor General in council is pleased to exempt all Mundas, Oraons, Santals, Hos, Bhumij, Kharias, Ghasis, Gonds, Kandas, Korwas, Kurmis, Male Saurias, and Pans dwelling in the province of Bihar and orissa from the Co-operation of the provisions of the Act retorsperdively From the passing of the ACT.
Provided that this notification shall not be held to affect any person in regard to whose rights a decision contrary to its effect has already been given by competent Civil Court

दिनांक - 2 मई 1913 ( प्राधिकार द्वारा प्रकाशित )
" जबकि ( सामान्य से भिन्न ) वे जनजाति जो मुंडा, उराँव, संथाल, हो, भुमिज, खड़िया ( Kharias ), घांसी, गोंड, कांध, कोरवा, कुड़मि ( Kurmis ), माल सौरिया और पान के नाम से जाने जाते हैं व बिहार एवं उड़िसा प्रांत के मध्य निवासित है, इनके अपने प्रथागत उत्तराधिकारी एवं विरासत के रूढ़िगत प्रथा कायम है जो कि भारतीय उत्तराधिकारी अधिनियम 1865 के प्रावधानों से सर्वदा असंगत है और इन जनजातियों के लोगो पर उक्त अधिनियम के प्रावधानों को लागू करना व्यर्थ है।
भारतीय उत्तराधिकारी अधिनियम 1865 के भाग 332 में दिए गए शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए गवर्नर जनरल कॉउन्सिल में उक्त सभी जनजातियों जो मुंडा, उराँव, संथाल, हो, भुमिज, खड़िया(Kharias), घांसी, गोंड, कांध, कोरवा, कुड़मि ( Kurmis ), माल सौरिया और पान के नाम से जाने जाते हैं व बिहार एवं उड़िसा प्रांत के मध्य निवासित है, को इस अधिनियम के प्रावधानों की कारवाई से भूतलक्षी प्रभाव के साथ बाहर रखने की छुट देने में प्रसन्न हैं।
विदित हो कि इस अधिसूचना के प्रवृत होने के साथ ही किसी वैसे व्यक्ति के अधिकारों पर दिए गये विरोधाभाषी निर्णय जिसे किसी सक्षम सिविल न्यायालय ने पहले से ही इस ( अधिनियम ) के प्रभाव के विपरीत बताया हो, उसपर प्रभावित नहीं ठहराया जा सकेगा ।"
