How to Change Batteries Schlage Sense Electronic Deadbolt | Mr. Locksmith Video

The battery I prefer and recommend for the Schlage Sense Electronic deadbolt is an alkaline Duracell AA Battery. Alkaline batteries when they are going dead will give you audible warnings, beeps, for days and weeks sometimes. A lithium battery, sometimes with only give one beep and then it's dead, so this is why I recommend alkaline batteries only for the Schlage Sense electronic deadbolt. If the batteries have failed and now all dead the mechanical will always be able to open the deadbolt. The key will always work, even if you have a dead battery. The Schlage sense deadbolts do not have a battery contact override on the exterior of the lock.
If your lock's touchscreen blinks a red x after pressing the external Schlage button, your battery is low. I recommend changing your batteries each year when you change the battery in your smoke detector to ensure smooth, uninterrupted performance of your Schlage smart lock.
On the inside of the door at the top of the Schlage Sense Electronic Deadbolt:
1- Remove by sliding up the plastic cover.
2- Carefully remove the battery connector.
3- Carefully remove the battery case.
4- Remove and Replace the Batteries.
5- Place the battery pack back into the lock.
6- Re-attach the battery connector.
7- Slide plastic cover
8- Test lock with door open.
