The ‘Village of Shanti’ is a captivating live musical production exploring three fascinating excerpts from the life of Pramukh Swami Maharaj through the eyes of a young boy named Neal. Facing his own struggles with family and friends, Neal meets a wise yet quirky villager, who commands the forces of a magical tree, giving him the ability to travel through space and time.
Using colourful music, song and dance as well as ever-changing sets, props and costumes, a vivid enactment of these real-life stories from Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s inspiring life allows the villager to teach Neal the value of kindness and selfless service to others.
By the end, Neal has learned to resolve his problems with the teaching of Pramukh Swami Maharaj that continues to inspire millions around the world: “In the joy of others lies our own.”
The ‘Village of Shanti’ was created and performed by young volunteers of BAPS UK & Europe for ten days at the ‘Island of Heroes’ children’s cultural adventureland during the ‘Festival of Inspiration’ at Neasden Temple in London, UK, in celebration of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s centennial birth anniversary, in July 2022, inspired by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.
