Fire extinguishers are designed to put out fires. They come with different classes as to stifle fires caused due to different types of fuel. There are four different classes of fire extinguishers. The fire risk from the different classes of fire in your business premises will determine which fire extinguisher types you need.
Class A: Fire extinguishers of class A are used to stifle fires involving cloth, rubber/paper or wood.
Class B: These extinguishers are used to stifle fires involving methanol, toluene, xylene, diesel, and petrol.
Class C: These fire extinguishers blow out the fires involving LPG, CNG, Acetylene.
Class D: These fire extinguishers are used to blow out the fires involving combustible metals.
