(15 Mar 2018) NICK JONAS LOVES HIS TOUR BUS - CANDY, EXERCISE SPACES AND ALL When he hits the road, pop star Nick Jonas likes to keep things simple - as long as he has his insulin, his personalized bed sheets and cereal to snack on, it's a good trip. "You know ,I've got really good over time, because I've been touring since I was 12 basically," said Jonas. "I've got really good at not needing anything besides insulin. I'm type one diabetic so that's like the only thing I really need, you know." "Besides that I'm good with some good beverages in the fridge," he continued. "And then going back to the bed situation, I think it's most important to have some sheets that you're comfortable in and I bring my own because I think it's a very personal thing, your sheets." Past Nick Jonas sheets even had his initials sewn in the corner. "My mom gave me sheets once that were embroidered with my initials, in case I forgot who I am. I was kind of confused by that, but I was like, 'Thanks, mom'. It just says 'NJ' on my bed, just in case, you know, I wake up and go who am I? What am I doing with my life?" Eating healthily on the road can be a challenge - especially when surrounded by fast food options and craft services tables, with candy and chips. Jonas said he tries to keep things as healthy as possible, other than the occasional candy, bowl of cereal and a light beer. "I go for the healthiest option, right? Because I think you're already really challenged with the kind of food choices you have when you're touring, so some good fruit, some low-carb situations, slice of turkey perhaps, and then the occasional bowl of cereal is really important as well. Not the healthiest but it makes you smile at the end of the night." He even claims there's enough room to exercise on board. ""You can get a good pump on the bus. The bunks back there as you'll see a little later when you take a tour, you could do a couple of dips. About a hundred thousand of those over the course of a six-month tour, your shoulders will be huge. You could do some abs here in this little middle hallway here, you could get your touring partners to grab your feet, so that in case the bus stops abruptly you don't smash forward. It's just a few things that I've thought of over time." Jonas has no problem getting a good night's sleep as the bus takes him from one city to the next. He finds the motion and noises of travel soothing, he says. "There's noise, there's the occasional bump on the road, but I like the humming, the low hum that you hear right now of the generator and going on the road I feel like I'm being rocked to sleep a little bit. I enjoy it." Jonas will be on tour starting Friday March 16, visiting Chicago; Tokyo and Kobe in Japan; Rochester Hills, MI; Akron, OH; and West Palm Beach, Fl.
