Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are carrying out experiments to see if face masks are effective in reducing the spread of Covid-19.

The team of scientists and engineers have tested seven different types of masks including ones supplied to the NHS and homemade cloth masks.

They found that all masks made a difference in reducing the distance travelled by a deep breath out by at least 90%.
