We are in Sousse in this episode of Önder Çangal videos. We entered the city "Bab El Gharbi", that is, through the west gate, and we swayed down the narrow streets. After passing the white-colored houses with blue doors stretching right and left, we reached "Souk El Caied", that is, where the shops are. Tunisia is a touristic country. Sousse draws attention as a touristic city in accordance with this definition.
The population of the city is about 270 thousand. The economy of Sousse, the third largest city after the capital Tunisia and Sfaxes, is based on processed food, olive oil, textile products and tourism.
The Grand Mosque in the center is very impressive. Built in 851 by Amir Abu Al- Abbas Mohammed al-Aglabi, the mosque was restored and expanded at various times. There is a mihrab in the middle wall. The history of the altar goes back to the period of the Zirlar, which reigned in Spain. The mosque is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
