Building a "Mid-2012" 17-inch MacBook Pro

In this video, I upgrade the CPU and PCH of a Late-2011 17" MacBook Pro to Ivy Bridge components, essentially building a custom "Mid-2012" 17" MacBook Pro! Unfortunately, though, the upgrade didn't turn out quite as perfect as I had hoped, as due to logic board differences between the Mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro and the 2011 models, I was unable to utilize the original Apple EFI firmware. Luckily, I was able make a custom Coreboot port for this machine, which then allowed it to boot and function normally with the upgraded Ivy Bridge components installed.
