In this video, I visited the Golden Temple of Amritsar also known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib, which is one of the most revered spiritual sites in Sikhism. The Golden Temple temple is known for its stunning architecture, serene ambiance, and the spiritual significance it holds for millions of Sikhs worldwide. Golden Temple's sanctum is adorned with gold-plated walls and a dome, which is gilded with approximately 750 kilograms of pure gold, giving the temple its popular name.
One of the most remarkable features of the Golden Temple is the Langar, a free community kitchen which is also the World's largest community kitchen feeds 100,000 people daily that serves meals to all visitors, regardless of their caste, creed, or religion. The kitchen operates 24/7, and on an average day, it serves around 100,000 people, is run entirely by volunteers, and the food is prepared with donations from devotees.
