In Theodore Roosevelt's book "The Wilderness Hunter", published in 1893, he describes the tale of two trappers in the remote and rough terrain of the Bitterroot Mountains on the border of Idaho and Montana. The two trappers set out to trap beaver but met a very different creature. One of the two men actually died. But now we must wonder what did this, and did it even happen? We read the story, and discuss various different theories surrounding this story.
