Background information on Khost Sikh community, of Afghanistan.

Since yesterday, some people were posting negative comments on Nidan Singh, a Sehajdhari Afghan Sikh’s, appearance. I hope this short talk/ information will clarify some points.

The Sikhs and Hindus of Khost Province of Afghanistan are ethically Pashtun and speak Pashto as their mother tongue. Just like many Pashtun Sikhs and Hindus in neighbouring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province) in Pakistan.

Nidan Singh, a devout Sikh left his five children in India to perform selfless service at a historic Gurdwara, in a highly volatile region bordering Pakistan. Like him, many Sikhs from Khost baridari in London borough of Kingston, perform selfless service at Guru Har Rai Sahib Gurdwara.
