“9/11’s everyday for us”: Families of Sept. 11 victims remember loved ones on 23rd anniversary

U.S. President Joe Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump attended a September 11th memorial event in New York on Wednesday. A day after squaring off in their first presidential debate, Harris and Trump were seen shaking hands while paying respect to the victims and their families.
The event at the 9/11 Memorial marked the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attack, when commercial airliners crashed into the New York World Trade Center twin towers, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed, including more than 2,600 at the World Trade Center, 189 at the Pentagon, and 265 on the four planes.
"9/11's everyday for us,” said Sgt. Edwin Morales, a cousin of 9/11 victim Ruben David Correa. “We need the young generation to take over to learn about 9/11, even though they were not born… We will never, ever forget these heroes."
