The Haines Hunter 675 Offshore is a fantastic platform for the serious fishing fanatic. The boat has a long history in the Australian marketplace and Boatadvice.com.au journalists Dom Wiseman and Tony Crawford we lucky to experience its performance first hand.
From the fine entry at the bow which allows the boat to slice through chop delivering an insanely smooth ride to the excellent internal appointments including a sturdy and strong tower complete with rocket launcher and well appointed electronics package, this boat was hard to fault.
Tony and Dom headed out toward North Head to try their hand at chasing snapper in the washes first and while getting out a little late, they were impressed with the expansive cockpit area which is the most usable they’d seen in a boat this size. While the fish didn’t play ball, this boat test showed up the versatility and extreme comfort of this iconic hull with a little trolling on the way back showing the strengths of the boat and hull against the slop and backwash from the heads.
The Mercury Verado Four Stroke was perfectly suited to the Haines Hunter 675 Offshore delivering plenty of torque to get onto the plane quickly while having enough in reserve to pile on the power all the way through the midrange.
