E-Flat (Eb) tuning is also referred to as "tuning down a half-step".  Since each fret is a half-step, tuning down to E-Flat is like adding an additional fret to the neck.  Unfortunately many inexpensive Digital Chromatic Tuners do not display Flat notes/chords, but they will typically display Sharp notes/chords.  Use the follow steps to tune down a half-step from Standard tuning to E-Flat tuning using a Digital Chromatic Tuner:

1. Turn-on and clip-on your tuner

2. Make sure you are in Standard tuning as a starting point
(E, A, D, G, B, E)

3. Slowly loosen and strum the strings one at a time starting with the top (6th) string

4. Repeat step 3 for each string in order from top to bottom
(D# = Eb, G# = Ab, C# = Db, F# =Gb, A# = Bb, D# = Eb)

5. Once you are tuned to E-Flat, if you put your Capo on the 1st Fret, then you will be back in Standard Tuning.  Although, you may have to adjust the tuning very slightly to get it perfect.

6. To verify that the information provided here is correct, please feel free to check out the Enharmonic Equivalence information found at: http://www.tyquinn.com/2009/finding-t...

**Note about Tuners:  There are lots of different types of tuners out there with various different settings, it would be hard to cover them all.  I used a very basic cheap tuner with out of the box settings of Chromatic 440Hz.  One popular tuner that I use now is the SNARK SN-1 which works perfectly and displays settings described in this video.  You can pick them up at most guitar stores or on Amazon for $10-$15.
