EVEN MOSS STITCH BABY BLANKET

My Blanket measured 20 x 30

Abbreviations:

ch - chain
hdc - half double crochet
ss - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
rpt - repeat
crab stitch or backward single crochet


Begin by making a chain in even number

I made a chain of  96.

Row 1: ss in 2nd ch from hook.  hdc in next ch, ss in next ch, repeat to end, (end with a ss in last ch space, ch 1 and turn,

Row 2,  ss in ss from previous row, hdc in hdc from previous row, repeat to end, ch 1 and turn

REPEAT Row 2 for the length of your blanket.  I made a total of 62 Rows

1st Row – ss into 2nd ch from hook, * 1 hdc  into next ch, ss into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

2nd Row – 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, * 1 hdc into next hdc, ss into next ss, * rpt from * to * to end.  

EDGING

DO NOT BREAD YOUR YARN

ch 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in each st all around the blanket (3 sc in each corner st).

Repeat 4 more times.
