The entire Luhansk region controlled by Ukraine is actually the frontline. In Rubizhne and Popasna, there are already battles in the streets, Kreminna is under constant fire, and shells reach Lysychansk. The administrative center of the Luhansk region since 2014 is Severodonetsk. About 160 thousand people lived in the city before the war, and now there are 20 thousand left. Every day local authorities persuade people to evacuate the city. It becomes impossible to live here. Severodonetsk is being shelled chaotically, and there are no more conditionally safe zones in the city. There is also no water, mobile network coverage, and electricity. The military and police deliver humanitarian aid to basements and shelters, and volunteers are also leaving the city.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) intercepts conversations in which Russian soldiers tell their relatives that the order is to raze Severodonetsk to the ground. For Nastya Stanko and Kolyan Pastyko, this was the most uncomfortable filming location they've been to over the past month. However, this is the story of those who stayed here to help the people and save the city.
