Worldcoin Expands Team with Former Apple and Google Executives

Former executives from Apple, Google, Meta, Tesla, and X have joined Sam Altman's Worldcoin project. These industry leaders are set to enhance Tools for Humanity's privacy, security, hardware, and digital ID divisions.

Worldcoin, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, aims to create a global digital currency through biometric verification using its digital identity system, World ID.

Rich Heley, formerly of Apple, Meta, and Tesla, is now Chief Device Officer, overseeing the Orb device for iris scans. Damien Kieran, ex-Chief Privacy Officer at X, joins as Chief Privacy Officer to ensure compliance and privacy. Adrian Ludwig, former Google Director of Android Security, becomes Chief Information Security Officer, safeguarding data. Ajay Patel, previously leading Google Payments' identity team, heads World ID, focusing on partnerships and user experience.

Worldcoin plans to move from OP Mainnet to its own Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain later this summer.
