katachi amti is another Maharashtrian traditional recipe. In earlier recipe of katachi amti we have added some blended spices or watan in it. But today we will make katachi amti without any watan. Still it will get nice kat or tarri. Try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• Kat or water from cooked chana dal
• 1/4 cup  shredded dry Coconut
• 1 tsp Oil
• 1 Cinnamon stick
• 2~3 Bay leaves
• 2~3 Black peppercorns
• Cloves
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Hing
• 5~6 Curry leaves
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp Goda masala
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• Salt to taste
• 2 tsp Tamarind pulp
• A small picese of Gudh / Jaggery

Method:
• Strain the water from cooked dal that is cooked for puran poli.
• Take dry coconut into a pan and roast it on medium heat until it
  gets nice golden color.
• Transfer the roasted coconut into a blender jar and blend it into
 powder.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add cinnamon stick, bay leaves, black peppercorns, cloves and
 fry for few seconds.
• Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
• Add cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves and turn off the gas.
• Add turmeric powder, goda masala, red chili powder and mix well.
• Add dalicha pani and water to adjust the consistency.
• Add salt, blended coconut and mix well.
• Add tamarind pulp, jaggery and mix well.
• Turn on the gas and boil amti on medium heat for about 7-8
 minutes on medium heat.
• Katachi amti is already.
• You can have this amti with puran poli.
• It goes well with rice too.
• You can have this amti as it is.
