Why Did Nvidia Re-Brand and Re-Release The 9800 GTX+ ?

In 2009 Nvidia Re-Released the G92 based 9800 GTX+ graphics card under a different name, that being the GTS 250. But why did they do it, and how did it impact performance? Well let's take a look!
