I couldn't bring myself to open an umbrella.
It was the sensation of a raindrop falling on the back of my neck,
That made me realize my usual way home was adorned with rain's dotted patterns.
Thought it was just a passing shower,
The rain stubbornly refused to cease.
Swiftly, it dyed the city one tone deeper, darker.
My vision, gradually blurred,
Emotions that flowed along were drowned by the rain's sound.
I couldn't bring myself to open an umbrella.
Just quietly listening alone on a rainy day.
