Africans In America: Indentured Servants

This is a 14 minute clip from the 6 hour PBS series "Africans in America: America's Journey through Slavery". It chronicles indentured servitude in America. It goes from white indentures, to both white and black indentures, and finally, to the cessation of white servitude as black servitude moves from consisting of a "period of years" to a LIFETIME!

In accordance with English law, only non-Christians could be servants for life - regardless of race. Just another instance where the "Godly" [no matter what the religion] have felt a right to do whatever they desired to the "un-godly".
