If you are a fan of German Chocolate Cake, then this quick and easy cake is definitely one you've got to try. Paired with the homemade frosting, takes this cake to the next level. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and friends do.

German Chocolate Cake
1- Box German Chocolate Cake (15.25 oz)
1 C. Buttermilk, shaken
1/2 C. Water (if using 13.25 oz box cake mix, reduce water to 1/4 C.)
1/2 C. Vegetable Oil
1t. Vanilla Extract
3 Large Eggs at Room Temperature

Bake in 2-8" round cake pans or split batter between 3- 8" round cake pans that have been sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake @ 350 degrees, 15-20 minutes or until tester comes out clean.

Pecan/Coconut Frosting
2 Sticks (1 Cup) Salted Butter
5 Large Egg Yolks at room temperature (see link to vlog below on what to use leftover eggs whites for. You will double that recipe and be able to use 4 of the egg whites)
1 C. Granulated Sugar
1 C. Light Brown Sugar
1-12 oz Can (1& 1/2 C.) Evaporated Milk (not sweetened condensed milk)
2 t. Vanilla Extract
2 C. Toasted Pecans
2 1/2 C. Flaked or Shredded Coconut
