Today is July 28th, 2021, I would like to show you Schaffhausen, a small but lovely city. The tour starts at Schwabentor, leads through the old town with many historic painted buildings, street music, cafes, a restaurant and the Alt St. Johann Church (you can also see it from inside), Allerheiligen Museum, best ice cream parlor (El Bertin) and the beautiful Rhine . The Munot can also be seen briefly.

Schaffhausen is the northernmost city in Switzerland and, along with Basel, the small town of Stein am Rhein, Neunkirch and Eglisau (Canton Zurich), is one of the few Swiss cities north of the High Rhine (border between Germany and Switzerland). Schaffhausen is located southeast of the Randen, at the confluence of the Durach, which comes from the north, into the Rhine.

The old town has numerous Renaissance buildings. Schaffhausen got the nickname oriel town because of the 300 existing bay windows. Outside the original city walls, now in the middle of the city due to the expansion, is the Munot, a fortress from the 16th century. Southwest of the city, but no longer in the city area, is the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. You can find Munot and Rheinfall in another video from me :-)
