Metropolitan Railway E Class No: 1  whistles through Notting Hill Gate on the Northbound District-Circle Line on a clear, cold early Winter morning as it heads the Northbound London Transport Museum 150 anniversary special from Kensington-Olympia to Moorgate. It's Sunday 13th January 2013 and the time was 10:06. Hello viewers. I'm back after a 3-week break with the sight and sound of London Underground steam as it was in the 19th Century. The London Transport Museum are running specials today and next Sunday to mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Metropolitan Railway from Bishop's Road (Now Paddington) to Moorgate. No: 1 will traverse the original 1863 tunnels from Praed Street Junction (between Paddington and Edgware Road) and Farringdon. My son and I are travelling on this bit of history at 20:00 hours tonight.

From Notting Hill Gate No: 1 passed over Praed Street Junction, went through Edgware Road, Baker Street Junction, King's Cross-St. Pancras, Farringdon and terminating at Platform 4 at Moorgate.

Normal services at Notting Hill Gate are District Line trains from Edgware Road to Wimbledon and return and Circle Line trains from Edgware Road to Hammersmith via Aldgate and return.

The Metropolitan Railway opened the line from Praed Street Junction to Gloucester Road on 1st October 1868 and opened Notting Hill Gate. The tunnels and station roof are 1868 originals and I hope you like my shot of the smoke and steam clinging to the 19th Century station roof.

Hope you enjoy and please give me your feedback. This is my 1st film of 2013. Hope to film Clan Line on the Southern main-line on Friday.
