Can a female travel solo
Can a female travel solo to Egypt, be super-safe and see the best sights in just 24 hours? Watch and see....
The intention of this video is to show what’s possible as a female travelling alone in Egypt, in just one day.
And wow! Top of my bucket list, ticked off in the time it takes superglue to dry on a reconnected Spider-Man leg. Yet, my kids and partner barely noticed I was out of their picture for the day - instead, I was selfying away, in-front of 4,500 year old pyramids.
That sense of self identity returned - which goes walk-about after becoming a mother to two energetic kids. The parenting responsibilities certainly shift that old adventurous lifestyle dial, to a chilled local temperate, quite the opposite to the scorching, yet thrilling heat of Cairo.
But this (often regarded as) selfish act I was determined to pursue - against the stern warnings of a few, had and still has, a butterfly effect, that continues to ripple across both my family and work life. I’ve got a skip in my step, I’m more patient and I catch myself smiling and still pinching myself, weeks later. What I gained in that 24 hours is a refreshed perspective on life that’s caused me to appreciate everything I have, that much more.
Surely, that can’t be selfish?
Please note:
The information I provide in the video, was provided to me by my Egyptologist tour guide.
Apologies for the lack of my make-up in the vid - I chose to go au naturel to push the bland-look for solo’ing in Cairo. Also excuse the obvious lack of sleep after 23 hours of flying across the globe from Australia, prior to my flight to Egypt.
