Preserved Locomotives of Peckett & Sons

Peckett & Sons

We take a look at a host of preserved Peckett & Sons steam locomotives, starting with Whitecroft (Works No. 1163) at the Midlands Railway Butterley.

May (Works No. 1370) is captured at Beamish Open Air Museum and East Lancashire Railway, operating around Bury station limits light engine and on shuttles. This is only a short distance from Heap Bridge, were it formerly worked at Yates Duxbury & Sons Ltd Papermill.

Neschelles No 1 (Works No. 1438) is also captured at East Lancashire Railway at Rawtenstall station on driving for a tenner rides and later returning to Bury with a brake van.

Kilmersdon (Works No. 1788) is owned by the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust and seen at Washford and Minehead, while Sir Gomer (Works No. 1859) is captured visiting the Foxfield Railway (captured on a pre-gala photo charter).

Henbury (Works No. 1940) is captured onshed at the Bristol Harbour Railway, while Number 2000 is seen at Barrow Hill Roundhouse and Beamish.

Works No. 2004 is seen shunting around Tyseley, while Works No. 2012 ' Teddy' is captured at the National Railway Museum's South Yard and at the Ribble Steam Railway running through the former Preston Docks System.

Ashley (Works No. 2031) is seen the museum at the South Devon Railway. Number 2087 is seen operating at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

Finally we see three locomotives on static display starting with the Mardy Monster (Works No. 2150) and then two narrow gauge Pecketts 1270 Triassic and Karen (Works No. 2024).
