Making an Ecosystem in a Jar That Receives NO LIGHT

What happens when an ecosystem in a jar receives no light, and therefore experiences only darkness? Today we will find out, by making such an ecosystem in a jar. It will remain open, so it won't be a closed ecosystem or an ecosphere, because it needs contact with the outside air for oxygen exchange, as no plants or algae can live in a dark environment, which would otherwise produce oxygen.
