Christopher Maltman - Can’t Shake Hands from Billy Budd (CSOTW, 21st June 1997)

Christopher Maltman performing "Can't Shake Hands" from Benjamin Britten's opera Billy Budd during the final of the 1997 Cardiff Singer Of The World competition. The English baritone went on to win the Song Prize that year. He made his debut with The Royal Opera House (London) in 1997, where he sang many leading roles. He also performed at Salzburg Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Oper Frankfurt and many more. He has made various recordings of song repertoire, has taken part in several broadcast performances and starred as Don Giovanni in Kasper Holten's film "Juan".
