Bundesregierung und KfW wollen Kommunen
Bundesregierung und KfW wollen Kommunen und Landkreise in Deutschland mit den " Modellprojekten Smart Cities" auf ihrem Weg in die digitale Zukunft unterstützen. Gemeinsam mit dem Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat (BMI) vergibt die KfW im Rahmen des Förderwettbewerbs verteilt über vier Förderstaffeln Zuschüsse in einer Gesamthöhe von 750 Millionen Euro.
In einer ersten Runde wurden im vergangenen Jahr 13 Projekte unter 100 Bewerber-Kommunen aus ganz Deutschland ausgewählt. Modellkommunen investieren nun in eine zukunftsfähige Stadtentwicklung. Der Wettbewerb soll den Städten und Gemeinden ein Anreiz sein, um die digitale Transformation als eigene Aufgabe zu begreifen und partizipatorische Projekte im engen Dialog mit der Bevölkerung voranzutreiben.

Smart Cities - our way into the digital future
The Federal Government and KfW want to support municipalities and districts in Germany on their way into the digital future with the "Smart Cities" model projects. Together with the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Homeland Affairs (BMI), KfW is awarding grants totalling 750 million euros in four funding categories.
In a first round last year, 13 projects were selected from among 100 applicant municipalities from all over Germany. Model municipalities are now investing in sustainable urban development. The competition is intended as an incentive for cities and municipalities to see the digital transformation as a task in its own right and to promote participatory projects in close dialogue with the population.
