This is the fifth and final video in our segment on How To Solve Cylinder Misfire P0301 302 303 304 & P0300 Random Multiple OBDII error codes on Honda Insight 2ZE. There are many reasons why a car engine could be showing the code P030X, which we will try to discuss in great length below, but in our case, replacing the 8 spark plugs, 4 each on both the front and the back side of the engine seemed to do the trick. Your situation might be different but you can always try to solve the most likely scenario first and then if it didn't get solve, move on to next possible cause.

Here's a brief background:
My brother Asfa informed my dad that his 2010 Honda Insight showed engine code P0300 P0301 P0302 P303 and P304 (Misfire detected in Cylinder 1 through 4 and Random Multiple Misfire). This happened all at once but there was no deterioration in performance. The car was driving fine, no jerking, struggle or stuttering. My dad thought it was weird so he went online to find out why but did not find a lot of concrete or conclusive information on how to fix, repair or resolve this issue.

What is a misfire?
- A misfire is when the fuel/air mixture in one of the cylinders fails to burn.
- In order for combustion to take place you need three things: fuel, oxygen, and heat.
- Fuel is injected into the intake via fuel injectors.
- Oxygen is found in air, and is sucked in via the throttle body.
- Heat is provided by the spark plugs firing.
- In a gasoline engine the air and fuel must be mixed in a particular ratio.
A misfire occurs, however, when the timing of the ignition is incorrect. The P0300 code is displayed if two or more cylinders misfire. Multiple misfires can be caused by many reasons from a faulty ignition system, fuel system, or internal engine failure. The most common reason for this to happen is faulty or worn-out spark plug coil packs.
What causes a misfire?
- Bad air/fuel ratio
- Spark plug not firing
Honda Insight Second generation (ZE2/ZE3; 2010–2014):
The new Insight includes Honda's fifth generation of its Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system. This system mates an internal combustion engine with an electric motor mounted directly to the engine's crankshaft between the engine and transmission. The original Honda Insight had eight spark plugs, one per cylinder.
