Honeywell Lyric t5 or t6 won’t blow cold air/won’t turn on AC

Watch this if you just hooked up your Honeywell Lyric and you are not blowing cold.

In short: electric thermostats are equipped with a delay when power is turned on to prevent surging in the event your power goes on and off. When the power comes on, the delay keeps the compressor from turning on for whatever designated time the manufacturer applies. On the Honeywell t6, the delay period is denoted by the “cool on” message blinking. When the delay is over, blinking stops. That blinking stopped while filming, and the end shows my outside unit running.

This is the second unit I have installed, and the first was in Dallas at my buddy’s house. We had to run a new wire for that one, and it was a hit bitch of a mess that night. Our wives were pissed.

Anyway, if you just hooked your’s up, it’s not blowing cold or your ac is not kicking on, and you have the blinking “cool on” message, give this waiting game a shot before you do dumb shit like I was about to do. Good luck.
