Ducklings crossing the road in the city. So cute!

Ducklings crossing the road in the city (Kitchener-Waterloo).  So cute! One day I was waiting for the bus at the Kitchener bus terminal. All at sudden,  I saw a bunch of ducklings following their mom! They were walking right across the main road towards the water fountain.
I wonder how they reached this busy place when they don't have human crossing guards?
