Sri M now goes back to the first two important angas in Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga - Yamas and Niyamas.
Sri M says, "For the practice of yoga, Yamas and Niyamas are very important. Sadhana pada is the second section of the Yogasutras of Patajali, after the samadhi pada, but before looking into the samadhi aspect you need to keep your chitta (mind) free of vrittis (disturbances). For that you need to practise the Yamas and Niyamas. So this is sadhana pada, what you have to practise to get there, (samadhi)....."

The Yamas are :
Ahimsa (non-violence)
Satya (truthfulness)
Asteya (non-stealing)
Aparigraha (non-possessiveness)
Brahmacharya (restraint in sexual conduct)

The Niyamas are :
Saucha (purity)
Tapas (purification through discipline)
Santosha (contentment)
Svadhyaya (self-study)
Ishvara Pranidhana (contemplation on Ishvara)

This online session took place on 18th June, 2020 in Madanapalle.
