This video was filmed on USM's Tropical Ecology in Belize study abroad program. This trip was two weeks long, and we spent most of this time in Belize. However, we also went to Guatemala for two days to visit Tikal and see the ruins there. Notable places that we visited include Cockscomb Basin and Wildlife Sanctuary, Martz Farm, Tikal, and Turneffe Atoll.

Poetry:
"Coming Home" by Joe Martinez owner of Martz Farm

I would like to thank Joe for allowing me to use his beautiful poetry in this video. I would also like to thank him and his entire family for a lovely stay at Martz Farm. This was one of my favorite places that we visited, and I believe it was because of the people that we met there. Miriam was a gracious host and cooked the most delicious food! Luis was an extremely knowledgable and funny guide. He led us on hikes, a horseback ride, and a pontoon boat ride. The pontoon boat ride was the highlight of my trip. We travelled around Vaca Dam Lake on this and saw waterfalls and howler monkeys...my two favorite things! We even got to go cliff jumping near a waterfall and swing on a rope swing! I would highly recommend Martz Farm to anyone who visits Belize.

Songs:
"Nature" by Kygo
"Mexico" by Kygo

Note: All animals seen in this video were filmed in the wild, with the exception of the jaguar and puma. These animals were viewed at the Belize Zoo

I would like to give a special thank you to the professors as USM that made this trip possible. I had a wonderful time learning about tropical ecology in the field!

I also wrote a blog post about the trip. It can be found here: http://theaddyventure.blogspot.com/20...
