In this video, we'll show you how to make your network more secure using a Cisco Switch and a tool called Cisco Packet Tracer. We'll guide you through the steps one by one.

First, we'll start by opening the Cisco Packet Tracer. Then, we'll pick the Cisco Switch from the list of equipment. After that, we'll set up some rules on the Switch so that only the devices you trust can connect to the network.

By watching this video and doing what we show you, you can make sure your network is safe, and only the devices you want will be able to connect.

To set up restrictions on a switch's ports in a simple way:

Step 1: Start by adding a router, two computers, and a switch to the Packet Tracer workspace.

Step 2: Connect the computers to any FastEthernet ports on the Switch.

Step 3: Connect the Switch to the router's GigabitEthernet port.

Step 4: Give an IP address to the router's Gig0/0 port and open it.

Step 5: Set up the TCP/IP settings for the computers.

Step 6: Check if the network works by pinging the router from the computers.

Step 7: To stop unauthorized people from connecting to your network physically, use the "port security" feature. This makes sure only allowed computers can connect to the Switch. If someone is not allowed to plug in, the network access is blocked.

To better know the meaning of configuring port settings permissions, you can refer to this article: https://www.sysnettechsolutions.com/e...

Step 8: Open the Switch's command prompt and go to the FastEthernet0/1 port, where PC0 is connected.

Step 9: Execute the commands shown at the 4:55 time in this interface.
Step 10: Add another computer to the workspace and set up its TCP/IP settings.

Step 11: Connect the new computer to the Fa0/1 port and watch the Switch's command prompt while pinging another computer on the network. You'll see the FastEthernet port status change from up to down.

Step 12: This prevents unauthorized people from physically accessing the network.

Step 13: To check if the port security on the Switch is on, use the command "show interface FastEthernet 0/1" in enable mode and look at the port status.
