Transportation Management Careers Opportunities
Load Planner: The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail and is enthusiastic to work in a customer-centric environment. This position coordinates all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement. The load planner is responsible for planning and providing visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
Logistics Analyst: This person is the liaison between Operations, Engineering and Technology to provide feedback and support on solutions and systems implementations. A logistics analyst will be responsible to partake and manage cost savings ideas, special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The position has high visibility both internally and externally and requires interaction with customers.
Operations Supervisor: This individual is responsible for operational activities including: order entry, load planning, load-monitoring and supervising salaried associates. The supervisor will be responsible for performance management, corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to suspension level. This person is actively involved in the hiring process as well as customer interactions.
Transportation Sourcing: This person’s primary responsibilities include purchasing transportation services from motor carriers, managing carrier performance, and ensuring carriers maintain Penske’s compliance standards. The transportation sourcing professional works closely with Penske’s customers to understand their network and develops carrier sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and service level improvements. Execution of the strategy is then accomplished by creating requests for quotation, engaging carriers, and negotiating the best rates and service possible for Penske’s customers.
