At just 24 years of
At just 24 years of age this proved to be 10K WR holder Bedford's last attempt at winning a medal at a major championship before his career was cut short with injury.On the day it was left to another hairy Englishman called Dave,as in Black,to push the pace at the end,but it was local NZ runner Dick Tayler,running the race of his life ,that finally took the gold with a fine turn of speed in the closing half lap.
