As the annual Muslim pilgrimage
As the annual Muslim pilgrimage of Hajj approaches, dozens of specialised Saudi craftsmen are hard at work preparing an iconic embroidered cloth that covers the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam.
Known as the kiswa, the handwoven silk and cotton cloth is adorned with verses from the Quran, and a new one is made annually to be placed on the Kaaba in Mecca's Grand Mosque during Hajj.
