A cab ride from A
A cab ride from A to B is definitely nice to watch, that's probably why you're here. But it doesn't really do justice of what we really do all day. Trains aren't just ready to depart at all times, all freight and some older passenger trains need to be shunted, coupled, checked, driven to their destination, uncoupled and so on. You may have guessed it, it's time for another interesting cab ride with more focus onto operations and some unusual sights on the way.
We're in Basel-Muttenz marshalling yard and it is our job to pull a load of wagons into Birsfelden Harbour. To be more specific, we are delivering flammable liquids to Auhafen Muttenz, which is part of the Birsfelden Harbour complex and mostly handles flammable liquids, but also edible oils, wheat and other materials. After sucessfully dropping the wagons where they belong, the locomotive goes back solo to Basel-Muttenz marshalling yard, ready for other tasks.
