What is the greatest commandment of all? To love God with “all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” Get ready for a life-transforming message from this T.D. Jakes sermon, “Love Has No Loopholes.”
In the passage where Jesus reveals the greatest of all commandments, He is having a philosophical discussion with a lawyer. The lawyer is placing the Messiah under scrutiny and looking for loopholes, but Jesus responds with an insightful and timeless lesson.
This commandment, T.D. Jakes says, holds absolute preeminence because if we truly love God with all our heart, soul and mind, then everything else will fall into place. More important than right or wrong, the love of God will inform all our actions and reactions, every choice, every response!
This 100 percent love of God, however, is a challenge. Bishop Jakes assures us that since God commands us to love Him this way, He also enables us to love others accordingly.
T.D. Jakes then expounds on Jesus’ following commandment: “love your neighbor as yourself.” When the lawyer asks, “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus’ answer is the story of the good Samaritan.
