Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO
Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, met with European Parliament leaders to discuss the company's massive data breach scandal involving political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica. Zuckerberg apologised for the misuse of more than 87 million users' data and insisted that Facebook will comply with the strict new GDPR, the EU data protection regulation that takes effect on Friday (25 May).
Tajani announced on Monday that the meeting would be livestreamed. Last week, MEPs from different political groups expressed outrage after the Parliament president said that the leaders would speak privately with Zuckerberg. They had originally pushed for a larger hearing before four of the Parliament's committees.
