The all-new BMW i5 eDrive40
The all-new BMW i5 eDrive40 is a stellar addition to the BMW 5 Series line-up. Featuring the latest in electric vehicle technology, the eDrive40 brings innovation, power, and style to the forefront.
To start with, the powertrain of the i5 eDrive40 is a prime example of BMW's commitment to electric mobility. It's powered by a high-performance electric motor that delivers 400 hp, demonstrating BMW's ongoing commitment to creating powerful yet environmentally-friendly vehicles.
The electric drivetrain ensures impressive performance. The i5 eDrive40 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a brisk 4.9 seconds, showing that this electric sedan doesn't sacrifice performance for sustainability.
Regarding the electric range, the BMW i5 eDrive40 is no slouch. With a high-voltage 68 kWh battery, it boasts an impressive electric range of up to 630 kilometers (391 miles) as per the WLTP cycle. This gives the eDrive40 a substantial amount of flexibility and makes it a practical choice for long-distance drives.
Charging the eDrive40 is a breeze, thanks to BMW's advanced charging technology. The vehicle's high-voltage battery can be charged up to 170 kW at a fast-charging station, reducing the time needed to replenish the battery.
The eDrive40 also features the new BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect" and BMW Operating System 8.5, making it a state-of-the-art vehicle with intuitive operation. BMW's new iDrive is consistently designed to be operated by touch display and natural language, increasing the convenience for the driver.
Adding to the convenience is the BMW Operating System 8.5, which offers a wider range of digital content for information and entertainment. It even offers an innovative form of in-car gaming through the AirConsole platform, which allows passengers to play casual games while the vehicle is stationary, ideal for bridging waiting times while charging.
The eDrive40 is also equipped with advanced driving assistance systems such as the optional Driving Assistant Professional, which includes Steering and Lane Control Assist and Distance Control with Stop & Go function. It enhances safety and comfort for the driver and passengers.
The vehicle comes with a Parking Assistant, including Reversing Assist, as standard. With the optional Parking Assistant Professional, automated parking and manoeuvring of up to 200 metres can be controlled in the vehicle or by smartphone outside the vehicle.
In terms of connectivity, the eDrive40 features two 5G mobile phone antennas as standard, and an optional four, providing optimal phone quality and connectivity. With the BMW Digital Key Plus, the vehicle fully integrates into the customer's digital ecosystem.
