windows cannot be installed to this disk this computer hardware may not support booting to this disk

While I was trying to install a new version of Windows OS, an error message came up “Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enable in the computer's BIOS menu”.  So, what you need to do is – change the SATA Device Mode in the BIOS settings to some other mode. In my case, I changed it from RAID to AHCI mode, then I could install the new OS.
