When opening an AutoCAD drawing,
When opening an AutoCAD drawing, a message says that the file is from a student or educational version. This message gets created while using software licensed through the Education Community for some versions of AutoCAD you see this message.
Also, a plot stamp or watermark is added when plotting or printing the drawing. This applies to software licensed by students, educators, and Autodesk-sponsored design mentors and competitors.
Causes:
The drawing was created with AutoCAD or AutoCAD-based product, licensed by students and educators through the Autodesk Education Community. The watermark is designed to discourage commercial use of an educational version.
Solution:
If using an earlier AutoCAD version, you can avoid this issue by avoiding the use of the educational plot stamp altogether:
Stop accepting education watermark-stamped drawings
Tell outside companies that are providing drawings from educational product versions that they cannot be accepted.
Review the applicable Autodesk software license agreement
For each licensed product, identify cases in which educational versions of Autodesk products are being used in a manner inconsistent with the terms of the governing license agreements. This prevents the inclusion of educational plot stamps in files used for professional, commercial, and for-profit purposes.
When you receive a drawing created in AutoCAD 2019-2021 with an education watermark, the only option to remove the educational watermark is to open the drawing in AutoCAD 2022 or later and save the drawing. This will remove the educational watermark from the drawing.
