I tried to create some long (i.e.: high) text object in Quicktitler of EDIUS 8.5 that I wanted to scroll slowly (slide up) in a trailer.
Unfortunately it turned out that only the middle part of the title was available (the top and bottom was missing, respectively)!
Next thing I tried was to export the title text as an image file, and use that file in a video track with layouter in EDIUS. Unfortunately the exported bitmap image had also been truncated on top and bottom.
Next thing I tried was to use a word processor to write white on black, and export that as an image (rest as described before). That worked, but the background is not transparent.

Here is a long form Quicktitler scroll.
Quicktitler 18 page scroll.zip

Put this on your timeline and extend it out to 3 minutes. I played this out to my monitor and it was smooth as silk.
If you are playing this on your computer with the Edius overlay, it may be jerky. You can add optical flow to it to
smooth it out.
If you want to see how it is assembled, double click the title and view all of the settings.

I am away skiing at the moment so do not have Edius available so may not use the correct word. I am sure Jerry can correct me. Make sure you are not on the still mode frame. I make a text file and then copy and paste into quicktiltler. You can select to scroll up down etc. Format the text as you want. Use the scrol bar on the right of the text frame to make sure it is what you want then save.
