350 Legend requires precision rifle
350 Legend requires precision rifle brass to keep an AR 15 in good health; even more so that your average bottleneck cartridge. Absent the rim like you get on 357 Magnum, the straight-wall 350 Legend bases its headspace entirely on the case mouth. If brass gets too long it pinches the projectile, and pressures ramp up dangerously. Too short, and the brass may stretch and tear: a case head separation. I grabbed ten random cases from each bag of brass and measured their lengths and weights. At the same time as the 350 Legend testing I'll be using Starline 458 SOCOM brass to concoct some gigantic hand loads using 350-grain Speer Hot-Cor projectiles. Both sets of brass exhibited extreme precision in their construction, both in weight and in length. Even though these aren't precision cartridges like 6.5 Grendel, they will still benefit from the repeatable performance we'll likely see from both of these heavy hitters.
